Local detail
Most of Port St. Lucie east of I-95 is single family homes on the original grid of the planned city, built a few at a time from the 1980s onward. That mix shows up in the garages: one house still has its original door with extension springs and an older chain drive opener, the next has an insulated door and a belt drive unit. Older doors often carry parts from several past repairs, which can leave the door out of balance, so we rebalance it on every spring or cable job. Homes along the North Fork of the St. Lucie River also see more rust on springs, cables and the bottom of the track.

What we do here
Torsion springs do the lifting, so when one breaks the door feels like it weighs a ton and the opener gives up. We fit a matched pair sized to your door, balance it and test it by hand. Most spring jobs run $200 to $500 installed.
A frayed cable, a roller that has worn flat or a dented section of track will make a door jerk, grind or close crooked. We replace cables as a pair, fit sealed rollers and straighten or replace the track.
Stripped gears, dead logic boards, sensors knocked out of line and remotes that stopped pairing. Most opener repairs run $150 to $300, and a new belt, chain or wall mounted opener supplied and installed usually runs $350 to $650.
If the door is hanging crooked or a roller has left the track, leave it where it is and keep the opener unplugged. We secure the door, set it back on the track and check every hinge and bracket before we leave.
A new garage door needs a permit, an inspection and a Florida Product Approval for the wind pressure at your address. We pull the permit, prepare the paperwork for your HOA and install. Single doors typically run $700 to $2,000 installed, double doors $1,200 to $4,000.
We lubricate the springs and bearings, check the cables, rollers and hinges, tighten the hardware and test the auto reverse. It is the cheapest way to catch a tired spring before it breaks. Most tune ups run $90 to $150.
Garage door springs are under extreme tension and can cause serious injury or death if handled without the correct tools and training. Nothing on this page is instruction to repair one. Send us a request and we will handle it. Full safety notice.
